OS Rotary Club EPIC Day of Service Project: FOOD DRIVE On Saturday, May 17th from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Rotarians will gather and collect non-perishable food items, toiletries, and other paper products at 4 different locations across our 3 towns: Stop and Shop in Old Saybrook, BIG Y in Old Saybrook, Westbrook Town Hall Green, and the Fire House in Old Lyme. All items collected will be delivered to the towns? food pantries for distribution. The most needed food items include canned beans, canned/dry fruit, peanut butter, tuna fish, soups, pasta and rice. Toilet paper, paper towels, and diapers are the most needed paper items. Monetary donations will also be accepted. Each year the Rotary Club joins clubs around the world for this one day of service, choosing and implementing a project that will make a difference for those in need. Funding for our food pantries is down 10%, while the need has increased over 30%, therefore making this project a necessary event. In this one day we can make a difference in the lives of people, igniting a ripple effect of kindness and lasting change. For more information, or to volunteer for this project, contact Joan Winters at 860 861 8811 or at wj.winters81@gmail.com. Additional information can also be found at osrotary.org
