Style Awaits at Spectrum’s Summer Fashion Camps

It’s still early Spring, but the fashion world is heating up with the launch of Spectrum Gallery’s Summer Fashion Camps this July! Join us for an unforgettable journey and dive into the world of fashion with two dynamic sessions tailored for young enthusiasts. Fashion I, from July 14 to 18, welcomes ages 10–12, while Fashion II, from July 21 to 25, is perfect for ages 13–15. Both camps take place at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, CT, and run 9am to 5:30pm.

Begin your mornings mastering the art of fashion illustration with live models, helping you craft portfolio-ready sketches. In the afternoons, shift gears to hands-on sewing sessions led by professional seamstresses who will guide you through pattern reading, pinning, cutting, and constructing your own garment, complete with accessories to perfect your vision.
The highlight? At week's end, step into the spotlight as professional hair and makeup stylists prepare you for a fashion show and photo shoot, where you'll showcase your creations to an audience of friends and family.

No prior experience? No problem! Our expert instructors are here to guide every participant, from novices to emerging designers. A material list for drawing and sewing will be provided upon registration.

Fashion Camps, a highly popular program, ran for several years but was cancelled once lockdowns hit in 2020.  In the past teens and pre-teens returned year after year with several moving on to study fashion at the college level. And what have previous attendees said about the program? One camper noted that Fashion Week was a “a serious program that guided me from concept to design to the creation of my own garments. It was thrilling to see my ideas take shape…all in just one week!”
So, join us this summer and transform your fashion dreams into reality! And for those eager to get a head start, join the Pre-Camp Workshop: Make Friends with Your Sewing Machine on Friday, July 11 from 3-5pm, or Saturday, July 12 from 10am-12 pm to learn the ins and outs of running your sewing machine. (The Workshop fee is $40; participants should bring their own machine.)

As space is limited for this program, secure your spot early by calling (860) 767-0742 or emailing barbara@spectrumartgallery.org.
